NHS England

Partner description:

NHS England is a new, rapidly developing organisation, at the heart of the Government’s vision to modernise the health service and deliver the best possible patient care.

As a new and emerging organisation, we want to be an exemplar in our approach and vision to staff health and wellbeing. We want to build on new and exciting opportunities available to us to make staff health and wellbeing central to delivery of our vision and to improve the quality and efficiency of the services we provide. In addition we aspire to show leadership across the rest of the NHS from establishing a robust, consistent and equitable approach to meet the health and wellbeing needs of our workforce across England.

We recognise that the delivery of quality services depends on a healthy and motivated workforce – when our staffs are well and satisfied; the experience of our patients improves. We know that ill-heath; poor health, absence, staff attending work when they are ill, and disengagement are all factors that compromise our performance and productivity.

A healthy workforce is more productive and so performs better, presenting us with many opportunities to maximise benefits through improved staff health and wellbeing. In a high performance environment promotion of health and productivity, and prevention of illness, focusing on innovation, prevention and rapid intervention will lead to our success.
