We commit to aiming to achieve the salt targets for the end of 2017 agreed by the Responsibility Deal, which builds on the work we have done within the 2012 deal targets.
The aim remains the same - to continue working in partnership with our suppliers to find new technologies and methods of reducing the requirement for salt in the products we buy from them.
We continue to train our chefs in basic nutrition, to give them a good understanding, and help them appreciate the difference they can make to our customers' diets and, by implication, their health.
Salt awareness remains on our agenda with two 'salt awareness weeks' - the national one in March and our own in October, to highlight the need for reducing the salt levels we consume as a nation as an ongoing activity.
