Physical Activity is a core focus of the Employee Health and Wellbeing Strategy. As part of our Change and Inspire health and wellbeing programme, we have set up a range of physical activity initatives and classes for staff including:
- Yoga classes currently taught at two trust sites
- Pilates classes
- Sports Massage which is beneficial for those already engaging in physical activity (ie runners)
- Football- a male team is currently being set up with a female team to follow
- Annual health and wellbeing events- in collaboration with external gyms
In addition, The Health and Wellbeing Manager also runs pedometer challenges at least twice a year including during National Walking Month in May.
Staff will continue to receive information on physical activity through newsletters and iniatives. We currently have a number of trained Workplace Health Champions who will be setting up walking groups for staff to attend.
In addition, we source and provide discounted gym memberships and other discounts for physical activity monitoring the uptake of staff by working with local gym providers.
