Working in partnership with the Nuffield Proactive Health team, Laing O’Rourke actively supports the promotion of employee health and well-being. As of 1st April 2014, Nuffield have added a Health score to move from a single assessment to an on-going process, updated on a “client web portal” to make it easier to access and use. They have also, updated and simplified the use of the nutritional advice section and made assessments more personal to the individual.

Free Health Assessments
For those monthly paid employees who are 50 years of age or over, we provide the option of having a biennial health assessment at the Company’s expense. This is carried out on a strictly confidential basis at a Nuffield Proactive Health clinic of the employees choice, and comprises a comprehensive health and wellbeing assessment that lasts approximately two hours. The assessment includes access to the full range of the latest technology as well as up to an hour with an experienced doctor.

Wellbeing Screening
In addition to the above, we also offer Wellbeing screenings. Delivered by our occupational health service provider, these mini-medicals include checks for body mass, blood pressure, cholesterol and other lifestyle-associated health issues. Employees may choose as many or as few of these options as they wish.
This service is part of a more holistic approach to employee wellbeing currently being developed by our occupational health team. The overall objective is to support our Mission Zero ambitions by proactively managing the risks associated poor heath in the workplace, ensuring that not only does everyone go home safely every day, but that they leave work safer and healthier. All medical data is treated with absolute confidence by our Occupational Heath, service provider, who are bound by the strictest legal and ethical guidelines.
