We have appointed providers / partners to deliver a suite of health & wellbeing solutions for our employees including employee assistance, company doctor, medical insurance, health benifits, occupational health provision to relevant standards, drugs & alcohol screening, on-line health assessment tool and a pilot programme of health screening.
It is our intention to report on progress on all PHRD Pledges within our our annual Health & Safety Report.
Within our programme we are promoting health and wellbeing via a monthly newsletter and poster campaign, activities involving charities and specialist suppliers and a monthly topic often linked to a national campaign and involving fun events, fundraising and competitions at our office locations and construction sites:
May - Sun Awareness, June - Holiday Health, July - Asthma, August - Hydraytion, September - Colds & Flu, October - Backs, November - Movember, December - Active Travel, January - Dryathlon, February - Healthy Heart, March - Stop Smoking and April - Healthy Eating and the importance of a healthy breakfast.
6 Health screening days have been programmed at head office locations by August 2014 with 1 screening day completed on a construction site so far.
Other initiatives linked to wellbeing include an active travel discount cycle scheme, stress awareness training for managers and diversity and equality training.
Flu vaccinations and a 'blood drive' are planned for the autumn.
