The Crown Prosecution Service has recently launched a new Health, Wellbeing and Attendance Strategy. A new area of our intranet site has been developed and is dedicated to keeping staff up to date with developments.

Additionally, as a central government department, we actively monitor and manage our sickness absence through measurement of Average Working Days Lost (AWDL). This is reported on our intranet site quarterly and a formal return is completed for Cabinet Office. We regularly benchmark across government and are currently seeking to reduce absence rates so we are comparable with the best departments across government. AWDL is also a key performance indicator in each Area in our performance management regime.

In addition the Service will form a project group to consider each of the pledges under the responsibility deal to consider further ways to improve delivery of this commitment.
