Lafarge Tarmac have a health management system and as part of this each employee undergoes an occupational risk assessment to identify areas of potential risk. Each employee is then given health surveillance at given intervals and any referrals from this are organised and the staff member offered assistance. The health management system is in three sections; Prevention, intervention and health & well-being. As part of the health & well-being section a number of initiatives and ideas are encouraged and put forward. During 2014 Lafarge Tarmac will run campaigns mainly based around the NHS annual plan focusing on:

Q1 - Diet and weight awareness
Q2 - Mental health awareness
Q3 - Eyes
Q4 - Cancer awareness

These campaigns will be designed to raise peoples awareness of the issues faced by people affected. How we can assist people affected to stay at work/return to work and undertake their roles in a way that is beneficial to all. They will also be designed to give people the knowledge of what to look out for, what to do if they think they or others may be affected and also to hopefully reduce the instances and impacts.
