H3. Health & Wellbeing Report
1 January, 2013
Submitted: 2 September, 2013
The Drinkaware Trust will include information on employee health and wellbeing in our Annual Report from 2014.
Sickness absence and staff turnover data is monitored regularly and will be reported to the senior management team. Return from absence interviews are in place for staff returning after an absence of more than five days. Continuous or regular absenteeism will be investigated by line managers and appropriate support will be provided as necessary through an occupational health professional.
Drinkaware recognises that the misuse of alcohol can be a medical problem and in these circumstances will offer appropriate support to its staff members to help them make a recovery.
• If a medical problem is identified and accepted by the individual, then professional help will be sought. Drinkaware will meet the reasonable cost of medical treatment, i.e. counselling.
• If a period of absence from work is required for treatment, this will normally be granted.
• Employment rights will be protected during authorised absence and every reasonable effort will be made to support the return to work.
The Drinkaware Staff Handbook is being revised this year, and updated to reflect the organisation’s commitment to the chronic conditions guide and the mental health adjustments guide.
