The Trust also supports a “Staff Experience Vision” and one of the pillars to this vision includes support and wellbeing of staff though their work. The Trust aims to achieve this pillar by continuing to run a Health and Wellbeing Group and having a health promotion team in place.
The terms of reference for the Health and Wellbeing Group state that its key aims include championing the health and wellbeing of staff throughout the Trust, including mental wellbeing.
We also pledge to ensure that mental health and how we raise awareness throughout the Trust is a topic for discussion in these group meetings.
The Trust also pledges to promote any campaigns where possible, for example, mental health awareness week.
The Trust pledges to ensure that it also regularly reviews its recruitment process to ensure that it continues to be an equal opportunities employer in line with the Equality Act 2010 and offers support to any applicant/new starter who may be living with a mental health condition.
For existing employees, we also have websites for our Occupational Health Service and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which provide useful information on this subject. We therefore pledge to use our internal communication tools, such as our e-bulletin, to promote these websites and highlight the support available to any staff living with a mental health condition, having been recently diagnosed or living with a family member who has been diagnosed with a related condition.
The Trust also pledges to make use of I Van’s where possible which visit the site, carry out health checks and promote awareness of certain conditions including mental health. The Trust pledges to ensure these are a regular agenda item in the Health and Wellbeing Group throughout the year and that we make use of these resources at least once a year.
The Health and Wellbeing Group will also operate an events calendar throughout the year.
