Our human resources policies and procedures, including attendance management, are available on our Intranet site.
We already have a comprehensive approach to occupational health within the organisation. We have had an external occupational health provider in place since 2005 who provide pre-employment medical assessments, where required and ad-hoc health assessments, at manager or employee request, so we can ensure any reasonable adjustments are put in place. Additionally, we have access to a Chief Medical Officer from our occupational health service who is able to provide advice, support and guidance. This approach helps ensure that chronic conditions are best managed in the workplace.
We plan to include a link to the NHS Direct website and to the chronic conditions guides for both employees and managers. We will also include an additional link to the core NHS Choices homepage.
