Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust has a section about the Health and Well-being of their staff in the annual report.The Health and Wellbeing section reports on staff absence in the previous year, the absence percentage rate and an update on the Trusts Health and Wellbeing activities.The Trust Intranet page for Health and Well-being includes the details of the health and well being activities and events for staff.The intranet page includes our HWB brand of a pineapple head and the brand name Happy Health Hinchingbrooke. This was the wining brand name and logo following a competition to ask our staff to decide on the HWB logo and brand name.All HWB information displays the pineapple head logo to distinguish that the information is about HWB.The format for reporting of absence includes:Trust Wide cost of sickness absence per monthMonthly sickness percentage rates by service divisions i.e. elective, emergencyMonthly sickness percentage rates by clinical business unitsMonthly days lost due to sickness and the top 5 causes of sickness absence.All sickness absence data and reports are from the NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system. Sickness absence rates are reported monthly on the clinical unit dashboard.Monthly absence meetings with all managers take place supported by a member of the HR team and the OH lead for sickness absence.Next steps for 2013:The appointment of a Health and Wellbeing ManagerReduce sickness absence to 3%Ensure that health and well-being is represented at recruitment and in the staff handbookNew health and well-being action plan for 2013Strengthen the membership of the Health and Well-being committee and review the terms of reference.
