Staff and post-graduate students are served by the University in-house occupational health service. This service has already registered for accreditation under the SEQOHS scheme.The service will use its own internal resources to ensure compliance with the accreditation requirements. The timetable for implementation is as follow: July 2012 - Registration for accreditationSeptember 2012 - Establishment of accreditation teamSep Dec 2012 - Gap analysis of current service to establish requirements to meet standardsJanuary 2012 - Development of action plan to meet standardsJan Jun 2013- Implementation of action plan to meet standardsJun Sep 2013 - Collection of documentation in support of applicationSeptember 2013 - Application for assessmentDecember 2013- SEQOHS assessmentJan Mar 2014 - Rectification of any key points indicated by assessmentMarch 2014 - SEQOHS accreditation The occupational health service for medical students is provided through the Newcastle Hospitals NHS trust OH service. As an NHS trust service it is required to be accredited by March 2013. The university will seek confirmation that the service has successfully obtained accreditation.
