We recently reviewed is Sickness Absence Policy in January 2012, which includes updating our leadership/management development programme for line managers providing reference to and information on chronic conditions.During absence managers keep in touch with staff to provide support and return to work meetings are conducted enabling a discussion regarding health and any support/advice required. We will continue to consider and make reasonable adjustments for staff to enable them to remain at work, or assist them back to work as soon as practicably possible.In support of this we will continue to work with Pathways CIC providing independent support to staff who are absent from work on a long-term basis with chronic conditions.We have a dedicated Well-being Intranet Page which provides advice to managers and staff, this will continue to be developed to ensure that information and signposting to services is included. We will develop the site to include more information on chronic conditions. We will review the Workforce Health and Wellbeing Strategy to include information on supporting staff with chronic conditions.
