H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

Allianz looks to encourage its employees to eat healthy, by using catering suppliers that provide a variety of healthy eating options at our sites. This includes having fresh ingredients on the menu which is reasonably priced and portioned. -Across our sites, we offer salads (premade and from the salads bar), fresh fruit and juices. Where possible, employees are also given the option to choose some foods without sauce. -Some of our restaurants already display wellbeing logos on the food, making this easily identifiable as the healthier option. We also run healthy eating reward scheme including the use of soup/salad cards. -Feedback forms in the restaurant areas are provided for employees to have their say and some sites have a chefs theatre. This is where the chef will tailor a daily dish infront of the employee to meet their individual requirements/tastes. -Free water is available to all employees within our staff restaurants and in vend kitchen areas. -Some sites provide fridges for employees to use, allowing them to bring in their own food. Future Plans: -We plan on working more closely with our Catering suppliers to ensure all sites offer healthy options, such as low salt, lower saturated and trans fat. Where this already exists we will look to increase the amount of dishes on offer. -We will ensure that these dishes are labelled more consistent through out our restaurants. -Where possible we want to start using GDA labelling in all our restaurants by mid 2013.
