Ipswich Hospital publishes health and wellbeing information including sickness absence data within our Annual Report and our annual Quality Account. A quarterly workforce report is provided to the Trust Board which includes a section on sickness absence including the sickness percentage, sickness rates by staff groups and by area, number of episodes and days lost due to sickness and most common reasons for sickness. We have a Trustwide Sickness Absence Case Review group which meets monthly and reviews information on sickness rates, short and long term sickness rates and reasons for sickness. managers from the areas with highest sickness are invited to discuss their sickness cases anonymously, and advise and support on managing the cases is provided. Within our Business Units we also hold monthly Sickness Review meetings in which sickness information within the Unit is reviewed along with a review of sickness cases. We also have a Health and Wellbeing group who, as part of their remit review the Health and Wellbeing section of our Annual Staff Survey and suggest actions to improve staff health and wellbeing which are considered and included within a sickness absence action plan e.g. providing stress and resilience training for managers.
