H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

Greencore currently has 4 catering suppliers that provide food across the 9 staff restaurants that are currently available at selected Greencore sites. We are currently working with our different catering providers to review and improve healthy option offerings across the 9 staff restaurants and to make healthy choices easier choices for staff using the facilities.This will involve developing healthy eating recipes and or options suitable for each individual restaurant and to develop ways of communicating and promoting these to colleagues. The uptake of healthy options will also be monitored with sales data and where possible an additional questionnaire. In 4 of the staff restaurants a trial will commence in April 2012 to implement a healthy signposting system with GDA information available for selected options and the uptake of these options will be carefully monitored and reviewed.Greencore is an active member of the East Midlands Platform on Food Physical Activity and Health and has made a commitment to improve healthy offerings in staff restaurants as part of this involvement.
