H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

As we are todayWith circa 850 employees located primarily in our 3 main packsites (strategically located in the key growing areas of the UK), our seed business in Perthshire and our processing unit in Telford, our staff catering facilities vary from site to site. Our site at Tern Hill in Shropshire has a fully functioning staff canteen which offers a range of hot and cold breakfasts and lunches including healthy options. Food, confectionary and hot/cold drinks vending machines are located at our sites at Tern Hill, Duns, Floods Ferry and Telford which offer staff a convenient source of food (including fresh filled rolls/sandwiches and fruit) and snacks 24 hours a day. All our sites have kitchen facilities including microwaves and fridges allowing staff to store, prepare and heat their own food. Each of our sites provides employees and visitors with free drinking water throughout the working day, whether it be from water coolers (located in our packsites) or fresh from the tap. Going forwardWe understand the importance of engaging our staff to eat healthier and make more informed food decisions and are taking various steps to enhance messaging across the group. We are currently in the process of working with our catering partners to deliver wider food choices on site and encourage staff to make healthier food choices while at work. Where we have the ability to offer hot and cold freshly prepared meals, we will aim to run special theme days, i.e. Wellbeing Wednesdays/Fit Fridays which will offer reduced fat, reduced calorie and reduced salt options to staff.A poster campaign will be launched across the sites to promote the importance of a balanced diet and general wellbeing through healthy eating and better food choices. We will discuss and implement with our vending machine stockists and catering suppliers (who provide luncheons for on-site meetings), measures to ensure healthier food options are available.
