Nestlé UK promotes and supports more active travel for its employees. We promote Cycle to Work by providing secure storage and showers on site. Gyms are provided at some of our sites while others have made arrangements with local gyms.Through Nestlés Charity of the Year 2011 partnership with Alzheimers Society, we launched a yearlong campaign called Be a Good Sport. The campaign aims to encourage employees to get active and participate in a sporting challenge to help raise vital funds for people living with dementia, their families and carers across the UK.There are a range of activities for employees to choose from including 5k runs, 10k runs, memory walks, triathlons, the london marathon, the Three Peaks Challenge, a Ben Nevis Challenge and the opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.The highlight of the Be a Good Sport campaign is the Nestlé Site-to-Site ycle challenge. The event takes place in July and will engage each of our UK sites, encouraging employees to participate in a leg on the total journey from girvan in Scotland to Croydon in the South of England, completing a total of 632 miles. The Site-to-Site cycle aims to inspire colleagues to pull together, win together and celebrate together in line with our internal winning behaviours for winning teams.During the course of 2012 an internal wellness page will be developed for the company intranet which will centralise and illustrate activity schemes undertaken by employees across the company and act as a platform from which to promote and support more active travel.Nestlé UK will conduct employee surveys on travel to work which will be used to set targets for more active travel.
