National Grid are in the process of tendering for their occupational health provider. As a Responsibility Deal partner National Grid included a technical question requiring the occupational health provders to provide evidence of Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) accreditation or preparation to apply. The contract is due to be awarded in December and the successful provider will be expected and required to gain accreditation, this will be monitored by national grid and referenced using the list of accredited health providers. In addition to the above the existing occupational health contract was renamed as a health and wellbeing contract and providers were expected to demonstrate how they will provide an intregrated service that both delivers the key occupational health requirements and the proactive wellbeing elements. Providers were also asked about their companies commitments, pledges, approach and involvement in the governments Public Health Responsibility Deal programme.
