The Midcounties Co-operative are part of Co-operative Retail Trading Group (CRTG) and working with them we have already achieved this pledge through the following:100% of own brand alcohol products sold by midcounties already carry labels with clear unit content, NHS guidelines and a warning about drinking when pregnant.Since 1996 all of Co-op's own-brand alcoholic drinks have carried information regarding units of alcohol in a drink, and in the case of wine and spirits the number of glasses per bottle.Since 2007, Co-op's own-brand products have, as part of a govermental agreement, been labelled with a standard format for sensible drinking messages, including units by glass, bottle or both, along with recommended daily units headed by "Know Your Limits" or "Enjoy Responsibly", and also advice to avoid alcohol if pregnat or trying to conceive.By the end of 2007, spirit drinks, such as brandy, rum, vodka, gin and whisky, had been relabelled with the new advice, and during 2008 wine labels were updated with the new information as products were rebranded.
