We have a long tradition of supporting community football and have a track record of enabling and encouraging young people to participate in sports. For over a decade, we have supported initiatives to encourage young people into football through raising the standards in local clubs. Since 2002 McDonald's has been the official community partner of the four UK Football Associations. During that time we have created over 20,000 new football coaches across the UK and helped to raise standards in over 6,000 local clubs. In 2008, we started to run a "Mums on the Ball" campaign which aims to get more mums into football coaching. To date, 450 mums have qualified as a result of the campaign. In late 2009 we signed a new four year community partnership deal with the FA. Over the following four years the new partnership will see the FA and McDonald's focusing on achieving specific targets to support 200,000 coaches and 400,000 volunteers through the McDonald's and FA networks. The partnership will also work towards the objective of ensuring that 75% of all youth clubs are awarded FA charter standard status - which in turn will help deliver over 300 chartered standard leagues before the end of 2012 And ultimately drive up standards in grassroots football.http://www.McDonalds.co.uk/Sports/Football/Football-hub.shtml
