At Mars Food UK, we are passionate about providing enjoyable healthy food that combines great taste with good nutrition. We have been reducing the level of salt in our brands, Dolmio, Uncle Bens and seeds of change, for many years, working in association with the FSA prior to our current programme with the Department of Health Responsibility Deal.This is part of Mars long term commitment to reduce the amount of salt in our products without compromising the great taste our consumers expect from our brands.Over 99% of our entire retail portfolio meets the 2010 targets and we are making good progress in achieving the targets for 2012. 100% of our pasta, dry rice, Uncle Bens rice time and Dolmio pastavita already meet the 2012 targets along with over 75% of our pasta sauces.All of our foodservice sauces, used in schools, hospitals and workplaces, also already meet the 2012 targets.We have a comprehensive salt reduction programme in place to continue our ambition of achieving the 2012 targets across the board, which include the use of expert tasting panels, along with consumer focus groups to ensure we continue to provide great tasting products that meet our consumers needs and contribute to the public health salt goal.
