The Trust is committed to the health and wellbeing of all its employees. This was demonstrated in October 2011 when the Board signed off the employee health and wellbeing (EHWB) strategy. The EHWB steering group meets on a bi-monthly basis and is chaired by the Trust's occupational health consultant physician. The group consists of a wide range of staff representatives from across the Trust. The work of the group involves ensuring that the Trust can demonstrate its commitment to this initiative by proactively action planning and participating in activites and events that support the wellbeing approach. Regular progress reports and updates are prepared and presented to the Trust board on a quarterly basis. Wellbeing features in the quarterly HR corporate performance reports. The activity undertaken over the previously year will be formally outlined and presented in the Trust annual report.All NHS organisations are committed to carrying out an annual staff survey and the results/findings from the survey are collated nationally and made availabe through the Care Quality Commission (CQC) reporting mechanisms - available publicly. There are a number of elements detailed in the survey that support the wellbeing agenda aims. Regular performance management information is produced that highlights the Trust sickness absence rates. This are routinely available to all operational and senior management teams across the Trust. All managers work proactively with the support of occupational health and human resource teams to encourage regular and reliable attendance of staff in the workplace.The Trust has recently developed an internal intranet site for staff that offers a "Your Wellbeing" zone. This site offers staff the opportunity to receive information of wellbeing events and activities in the area aswell as useful links to external organisations that can offer to support their physical and mental wellbeing.The Trust has developed and rolled out a management development programme that covers a "People Management" module incorporating managing attendance and wellbeing and mental health issues. The feedback evaluation from these events has been overwhelmingly successful with managers who have attended rating the event highly.Work over the forthcoming year will be to formalise the kpis for monitoring health and wellbeing interventions and ensuring the appropriate and robust reporting mechanisms are implemented.
