Hope North East (HNE) CIC is Middlesbrough's only user-led abstinence-based drug and alcohol recovery support service for addicts in Middlesbrough. We help individuals to put down the drink and drugs for good, by addressing the causes, and helping the individual to build a new positive life and to develop a good social support network.HNE is commissioned by the safer Middlesbrough partnership, a community safety partnership. As such we are key players in the delivery of Middlesbrough's alcohol strategy.Throughout 2012 HNE will be delivering a structured recovery day programme to provide therepeutic and practical support to those individuals, families and carers experiencing alcohol addiction and wishing to work towards abstinence. This 12 week programme will be provide participants with an introduction and awareness of universal recovery principles and will provide opportunities for the individual to acquire new skills, meet new people and link into local fellowships/mutual aid groups such as alcoholics anonymous.
