Through a partnership with Walk4Life we will create and promote a General Mills Mile at both our Uxbridge and Berwick sites. Inspired by the Olympics Walk4Life will be setting up 2,012 Walk4Life miles across England by 2012. The initiative is aimed at boosting people's confidence in walking and encouraging people to be more active. We will engage the community with the initiative through the numerous contacts we have made in the locality with our award winning community projects - some of which already help to get people more active. For instance our mobile youth bus project runs football competitions during the school summer holidays. We will also communicate and promote the walks through the Walk4Life website. On our Nature Valley snack bar website people can also find details of over 2,000 free walks across the country as well as details about the benefits of walking. Entering their postcode or location reveals suggested walks near to them. Nature Valley will also work to promote links with the Walk4Life website from its own site. In 2012, Nature Valley will be a sponsor of the Olympic games with a support programme that will include promotion of more physical activity.
