British Sugar fully supports the Governments drive to support people to choose a healthy, balanced and enjoyable diet, and we are committed to communicating and promoting the Chief Medical Officers revised physical activity guidelines to employees.Activities that support British Sugars pledge are targeted specifically to our employees across all our operations within the east of england and east midlands. We will be actively promoting existing schemes, including health and wellbeing initiatives in partnership with our occupational health provider, provision of health checks, access to an employee assistance programme, and participating in the Governments cycle to work scheme to encourage more people to cycle to work rather than driving.We have also developed a calendar of activities, including:promotion of corporate gym membership available as an employee benefitsupplying information and raising awareness of the British Heart Foundations National heart month - how you can keep your heart healthy by taking exercise and eating a balanced dietpromotion of 'cycle to work scheme'working together with catering providers to include promotions around choosing a 'healthy and balanced diet' across staff restaurantspromotion of our employee assistance portal, providing access to confidential, professional assistance, advice and support, on areas such as medical matters, as well as health care guides.To deliver these activities we will be utilising a number of communication channels, including our internal newsletter, company intranet, notice-boards and restaurant areas. We will be working with a number of organisations, including our catering and employee assistance programme providers to support, develop and create these initiatives.Our calendar of activities will continually evolve to support our employees reap the benefits of becoming more active.
