1 January, 2013
Submitted: 20 December, 2011
Following its launch in July 2011, the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) began promoting the recently revised physical activity guidelines from the Chief Medical Officer on its staff intranet in its 'Feel Good 4 Life' workplace wellbeing programme area. This messaging has also been promoted to staff during their individual health screenings which took place in across 2014.FDF also promotes these messages in our 'Workplace Wellbeing' booklet, which was launched in Q1 2012 and continues to be used, distributed and downloaded. This booklet offers employers a step by step guide to help them plan, execute and review their 'Workplace Wellbeing' programme. The booklet also stresses the business case for promoting healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle among employees, and includes examples of best practice and lessons learned from UK food and drink companies. Additional resources and information are also available for employers to download from the FDF website. This resource was launched to the media via a press release with surrounding publicity work. It is available to download from the FDF website and is distributed for free by FDF staff at relevant public health/ workplace wellbeing conferences and showcased at all health and wellbeing related FDF events.
