British Frozen Food Federation has communicated and promoted the Chief Medical Officers' physical activity guidelines in the October and November 2011 editions of the BFFF "Bulletin" publication. This is a trade publication delivered as part of member benefits to approaching 300 member businesses all involved in the frozen food supply chain. The first article provides the factual information on what the guidelines are; the second provides more information on how the guidelines can be achieved. Both articles provide the reader with links on how to get the Chief Medical Officers report and find further information on both the NHS choices and Change4Life websites. As further resources or information comes available follow up articles will be written and published.A piece was also written for the September bulletin by the Director General of BFFF, Brian Young, who spoke of the draft pledge on fruit and vegetables and encouraged members to explore how they too could participate in the Responsibility Deal.Additionally the Chief Medical Officers Guidelines and the Responsibility Deal have been discussed at some length with industry leaders as part of the BFFF technical committee. The BFFF has two websites: http://www.bfff.co.uk and http://www.thenewiceage.com. The former is a general website, which includes a dedicated members section whilst the latter is specifically aimed at consumers for the promotion of the benefits of frozen food. During the spring of 2012 BFFF plan to provide information and links from thenewiceage website to the department of health and Change4Life websites to further publicise the Chief Medical Officers physical activity guidelines.
