The British Beer Pub Association's (BBPA) members represent approximately 95 per cent of the UK beer market, which in turn constitutes around 37 per cent of UK alcohol sales. Members of the BBPA agreed at its council to adopt the three elements of advice labelling as set out in this pledge by December 2013. Members will also consider on an individual basis whether to include reference to the Drinkaware charity and a responsibility message.The BBPA, in partnership with the Portman Group, have undertaken to monitor uptake of the labelling pledge in the run-up to the December 2013 deadline. The monitoring exercise is intended to encourage take-up and allow the industry to identify where there are currently gaps. A further request for data is planned for 2012.
