For AXA PPP healthcare, health and wellbeing is our business. We believe strongly that we should practice what we preach and that we should be advocates for the wellbeing of our employees as well as our customers. To that end, we will include a section in our website - http://www.axappphealthcare.co.uk - which sets out clearly our commitment to our employees. As a company we not only offer private medical cover to all permanent employees, we also provide an in-house occupational health service, a comprehensive employee assistance programme, as well as a full programme of health and wellbeing related activity. This includes giving employees access to a new service, the be healthy gateway, which provides information and expert advice on a wide range of health-related topics as well as access to a health risk assessment tool to promote early identification of potential health risks and encourage those individuals to take action. Nearly 50% of our employees have already used this tool, which is well above the average utilisation of similar tools in the market.Through our health and wellbeing steering committee we regularly monitor the management information provided by the interventions mentioned above and this information is used to inform our health and wellbeing activities. We not only monitor sickness absence rates, we give support to managers to help them manage sickness absence instances in their teams. This not only includes conducting return to work interviews and encouraging managers to make reasonable adjustments to the work and working environment of those who have been off sick; it also includes giving managers training on how best to recognise and manage symptoms of stress and build up resilience.We will include sickness absence data on our website, updating this figure annually.
