We are committed to meeting the 2012 salt targets which build on the work we achieved to meet the 2010 targets. As part of the ASDA nutrition policy, 2012 salt targets are used as our guideline for reformulation. We have carried out an own label audit of all products to assess current status and will continue to work with our product development and technical teams to reduce salt subject to acceptable technical solutions which do not impact on product quality and safety by the end of 2012. ASDA is helping to support a UK food industry collaborative project through the FDF/BRC to investigate ways to reduce salt concentration in foods, which are proving technically difficult.
