As part of our work with the retail practices group we have committed to introduce new point of sale shelf barkers in all our beers, wines and spirits aisles to inform customers about units of alcohol in typical drinks. This includes the CMO guideline drinking message. The new point of sale will be displayed from February 2012. We will also advertise this in the February edition of the ASDA magazine and seek customer feedback through our twitter and facebook pages. A responsible drinking feature also ran in the October edition of ASDA magazine. In September 2011, in partnership with Diageo, 80 ASDA stores provided free unit measure cups to help over 20,000 customers keep an accurate check on how many units they are consuming. As part of this 'University challenge' customers were tested on their knowledge of how many units are in a typical drink. In 2012 we will work the Department of Health on the introduction of calorie information.
