At Danone, we take our employees' health and well-being very seriously. We offer many programmes and benefits to promote a healthy lifestyle. Our UK website (http://www.danone.co.uk/careers/workingwithus/whatweofferyou/) gives a short outline of our policies and benefits.All sickness absence must be recorded on our database, which is checked monthly by our HR coordinator, and populated into our HR dashboard spreadsheet. We calculate our sickness absence rate in the following way: Number of employees absent/active headcountWe monitor our sickness absence rate on a monthly basis to identify any recurring trends, and identify any recurring trends. Our sickness absence rate is minimal (2.9% ytd 2011), and in 2011, no employees have been on long-term sickness absence.As part of the Public Health Responsibility Deal we have pledged to include more details on our approach to health and wellbeing on our UK website. Currently, we give a short summary of our policies and benefits, but we plan to provide a more detailed account, including testimonials from employees.We have also pledged to share our health and wellbeing programmes with our main partners (e.g. ARLA, our warehouse), and with our local community through the Ealing council.These projects are on our radar for 2012.
