Physical Activity Network

The core commitment, “We will encourage and assist people to become more physically active”, provides a framework for the work of the network.

The network is chaired by Fred Turok, Chair of ukactive. Jane Ellison MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health provides Ministerial support.

The network is comprised of:
– a board which sets the strategic direction for the network, oversees the work programme and champions the network across business communities;
– the physical activity partners forum which brings together all physical activity partners three to four times a year to agree pledges, share good practice and develop partnerships to support delivery of the collective pledges; and
– taskforces as required to lead on specific actions, whose members are drawn from our physical activity partners.
