Britvic announces Robinsons no sugar squash

Following their 2.2 billion calorie reduction across the Fruit Shoot brand,  Britvic has confirmed it will be removing nearly 7 billion calories of its ‘No Added Sugar’ Robinson’s range.

Britvic became a partner of the Responsibility Deal in 2011, and this builds on the calorie reduction work they have been doing to help people consume healthier diets and forms part of Britvic’s commitment to reduce average calories per serve by 20% by 2020.

Paul Graham, General Manager of Britvic Soft Drinks, said:

“At Britvic we have already taken significant steps to cut calories in our drinks. This forms part of our broader health strategy to reduce average calories per serve by 20% by 2020.  With a glass of no added sugar Robinsons containing an average of just five calories it can help provide a healthy alternative for families across the country.   We have evolved the Robinson’s range after listening to our customers about their changing needs and remain committed to providing a wide range of drinks that can be enjoyed as part of a healthy, balanced diet”.

Public Health Minister Jane Ellison said:

“With more and more families looking to swap to low sugar options, new products like this are vital to help make that healthier choice. I am encouraged to see Britvic going further by listening to and supporting their customers and urge all businesses to extend this approach of resetting the default to healthy.”
