H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

Please describe how you have supported staff with chronic conditions over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section
We have continued to develop our existing policies to further support chronic conditions in the workplace.
Over the past year we have reviewed the referral guidelines into Occupational Health in order to better support individuals who are off and to bring them back to work where possible, with the use of case management and phased return to works.
We have supported this by use of our flexible working policy, which has been communicated to Line Managers and is also now covered in our Employee induction. Where possible we have made reasonable adjustments, as well as offering private medical insurance and a free Employee Assistant programme (EAP).
Through our Wellbeing programme we linked into and promoted national campaigns to raise awareness and provide employees with information about chronic conditions such as Cancers. This including Breast Cancer awareness month, Men's Health awareness month and No Smoking Day.
