1 January, 2013
Submitted: 29 April, 2013
Through your physical activity pledges you will be working with employees, customers/consumers and/or local communities. For each group (as applicable) please describe the specific activities or projects you have undertaken over the past year.
For example, employee incentive schemes to promote physical activity, awareness raising activities or improvements to facilites to promote active travel.
HNE continues to offer our service users and volunteers Weekend Recovery Walks. These have proven popular and take place every Sunday and every alternate Saturday. Our service users are supported to participate in countryside walks of varying intensity, getting out of the towns and city and into green open spaces to improve overall physical and mental health and well-being. This helps to improve fitness and wellbeing, develop positive social support networks and also to strengthen resilience and recovery. We have received a number of positive testamonials from our service users who are trying to build a network of things to do, places to to go and people to be around, those positive role models of visible recovery.
We are currently looking to develop a service user led 11 a side football team in Middlesbrough as part of our Middlesbrough Recovering Together Service.
For example, supporting/sponsoring local physical activity programmes, promoting physical activity to customers through website campaigns or in-store materials.
For example, support for community-based physical activity programmes (such as funding, sponsorship or other promotion activity), working with local partners to engage communities is physical activity opportunities.
