H5. Smoking Cessation/Respiratory Health

Please describe how you have encourged your staff to stop smoking and reduced other risks in the workplace to respiratory health over the last year. There is a 2000 character limit when completing this section.
Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust is committed to protecting and improving the health of staff, contractors, patients and visitors, by arranging for Trust buildings, properties and vehicles to be smokefree, requiring staff not to smoke while on duty and providing smoking cessation services to staff. These commitments are set out in the organisation's Smoke Free Policy . All Trust premises are smokefree environments and display no smoking signs. The Trust has robust procedures and guidelines in place to ensure that staff who work in patient's homes are not exposed to secondhand smoke. Other respiratory risks are assessed and actioned appropriately in line with the organisation's Health and Safety and Risk Assessment Policies. Smoking cessation services for staff, including advice, support, and nicotine replacement therapies, are available through the Trusts occupational health providers as well as local and national organisations such as CamQuit and Tobacco Free Luton. This enables staff to access services most appropriate for and convenient to them. The Trust allows staff to work flexibly in order to facilitate attendance at smoking cessation support. In addition, confidential counselling services are available to staff who may require psychological support with smoking cessation.
