H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

Please decribe how you and your caterers have encouraged healthier restaurants/vending outlet/buffets (as applicable) for your staff over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
In 2012 we launched a new menu in our staff canteens which extended the range of healthy choices available to colleagues and offers clear nutritional information.
In 2013/14 we further improved the availability of nutritious meals and healthy snack choices in our on-site vending machines and catering facilities. We have also launched an internal competition for the most improved staff canteen, to celebrate and drive progress.
In 2014/15 we audited our staff restaurants to ensure the right range of healthy options was being offered to colleagues and ran a healthy eating campaign using “Change 4 Life” material.
Looking ahead, we are launching a “Getting into Shape for Summer” initiative for colleagues, which includes an additional 15 recipes under 500 calories. We will also be running a “Healthiest Canteen” competition to showcase, promote and encourage good practice.
