P2. Physical Activity Guidelines

Through your physical activity pledges you will be working with employees, customers/consumers and/or local communities. For each group (as applicable) please describe the specific activities or projects you have undertaken over the past year.
For example, employee incentive schemes to promote physical activity, awareness raising activities or improvements to facilites to promote active travel.
Sport was introduced as one of the options in our Volunteering Programme including football orientated events for the unemployed, Olympic themed opportunities and wheelchair activities for disabled children.
The North East Children's Cancer Run has been supported by Greggs since 1983.In 2015 we expect the event to attract over 9,000 participants and Greggs people both taking part and helping to organise the event.
Our internal wellness strategy covers all areas such as physical activity guidelines.
Shower facilities at office & bakery sites for employees who run to work.
We continue to operate a Cycle to Work Scheme.
For example, supporting/sponsoring local physical activity programmes, promoting physical activity to customers through website campaigns or in-store materials.
The North East Children's Cancer Run has been supported by Greggs since 1983. In 2015 we expect the event to attract over 9,000 participants and the event is promoted extensively in our north east shops.
For example, support for community-based physical activity programmes (such as funding, sponsorship or other promotion activity), working with local partners to engage communities is physical activity opportunities.

The revised Chief Medicial Officers (CMO) guidelines provide physical activity recommendations for four distinct age groups. From the following list, please indicate the age groups you have focused on in disseminating the guidelines (if unknown, please explain why):

Over 9,000. The majority of these from the Children's Cancer Run participants with employees and local community members who took part / benefited in the exercise related volunteering activities and employees benefiting from our cycle to work scheme.
