H5. Smoking Cessation/Respiratory Health

Please describe how you have encourged your staff to stop smoking and reduced other risks in the workplace to respiratory health over the last year. There is a 2000 character limit when completing this section.
The Ipswich Hosptial NHS Trust has a smoke free environment policy that comits to the Trust premises beign smokefree environments and displays no smoking signs. There is currently available smoking shelters at points in the Trust grounds.
Suffolk Stop Smoking Services are available for all on site and all employees are encouraged to stop smoking and supported to attend the service.
Promotion of stop smoking via National No Smoking Day and Stoptober.
At all events promotion of smoking cessation via posters, leaflets referrals via occupational health to the stop smoking service in partnership with Live Well Suffolk
Respiratory health surveillance is carried out as required for any employee at risk from exposure to substances hazardous to health.
Smoke free environment policy will be reviewed and relaunched Autum 2015 in cojunction with stoptober.
