Submitted: 30 April, 2015
Through your physical activity pledges you will be working with employees, customers/consumers and/or local communities. For each group (as applicable) please describe the specific activities or projects you have undertaken over the past year.
For example, employee incentive schemes to promote physical activity, awareness raising activities or improvements to facilites to promote active travel.
Our UK breweries continue to support a range of community programmes and continue in our charity partnership with disabled children's charity, Whizzkidz. Throughout the year MCBC employees individually, and in teams instigate and participate in a variety of fundraising challenges including cycle rides, mountain climbing, marathon running, and their achievements are applauded through our communications department and in local community publications.
As part of our people engagement plan the management team in two of our breweries challenged employees to a 5-a-side football match which has escalated into several teams being formed and spectators will attend the charity football match event at Albion Stadium, Burton to fundraise for Whizzkidz.
For example, supporting/sponsoring local physical activity programmes, promoting physical activity to customers through website campaigns or in-store materials.
For example, support for community-based physical activity programmes (such as funding, sponsorship or other promotion activity), working with local partners to engage communities is physical activity opportunities.
The community projects aim to engage people with the business as a part of their community and with physical activity to improve their lifestyle and well-being and to encourage community spirit. We have a close working relationship with community businesses i.e. primary school, swimming pool, council, to provide services where possible e.g. allowing use of site for community fun days and local triathlon and education to local school children about environmental issues and vocational life skills.
Please estimate the number of people that (a) participated in your community programmes:
Please estimate the number of people that (b) were more active as a result of participating:
