A7(a). Community Actions to Tackle Alcohol Harms
1 January, 2013
Submitted: 30 April, 2015
Please describe how you have supported local community activity to tackle alcohol's social and health harms, over the last year (2000 characters limit):
The BBPA has long recognised the value of local partnership and has supported the work done by partnership schemes such as Pubwatch, BBN and Purple Flag schemes, as well as the work done within Business Improvement Districts with a focus on the night time economy, where local businesses can work together to pursue measures to tackle any issues and improve the area for all.
More recently we have been involved in the Social Responsibility Alliance (facilitated by the Portman Group) brings together the relevant partnership schemes and their supporters. We continue to provide financial and in-kind support for National Pubwatch and also sit on the Pubwatch and Best Bar None committees nationally and provides support and input to their work in this way.
