H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

Please decribe how you and your caterers have encouraged healthier restaurants/vending outlet/buffets (as applicable) for your staff over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
Aldi is committed to maintaining and enhancing the wellbeing of employees by providing an environment that promotes healthy choices and lifestyles.
To ensure all staff are appropriately hydrated, filtered chilled water is freely available in all areas of the business. We also provide all our office based employees with generous free fresh fruit on a daily basis to support employees in achieving the government's 5-a-day recommendations. All sites, including warehouses, offices and stores have excellent kitchen facilities available for staff including, fridges, ovens and microwaves, so that staff are able to prepare and cook their own meals during break times. In June 2014 - March 2015 vending machines supplies have been reviewed to ensure healthier options are included. We do not provide regular staff catering or canteens, however if lunch is provided, we ensure that healthy options are available and individual dietary requirements are catered for.
