S1. Local engagement on the Responsibility Deal agenda
3 February, 2014
Submitted: 30 April, 2015
Please describe the progress you have made on engaging small and medium sized organisations in your area to improve employee and/or customer health and wellbeing.
Hull City Council signed up to pledge S1 - Local engagement on Responsibility Deal. Since February 2014 the Hull Responsibility Deal (Public Health Responsibility Deal at a local level) has signed up more than 170 small and medium sized businesses - all pledging to either improve the food they sell, promote healthier workplaces, promoting physical activity etc.
These businesses range from large tourist attractions in Hull employing a large number of people to small sandwich shops. In addition Hull Responsibility Deal was able to sign up it's first takeaway with the owner committing to offering healthier options on their menu.
Hull Responsibility Deal has had widespread local news coverage through newspaper articles and television and radio coverage.
Currently annual reports on progress are being collated and this information will be developed into an annual evaluation report.
How many local organisations have committed to improving employee health and well-being?
How many local organisations have committed to supporting their customers to eat a healthier diet?
How many organisations have committed to supporting their customers to drink within guidelines?
In total, how many organisations have committed to taking actions to help their employees and/or their customers to improve their health and wellbeing? (Where organisations have made multiple commitments this will not be the sum of the three numbers above)
