F1. Out of Home Energy (kJ/kcal) Labelling
25 October, 2013
Submitted: 30 April, 2015
Please provide the percentage of your standardised1 food and drink2 product lines covered by out of home energy labelling.1 Standardised is defined as a product that is offered for at least 30 days in a year.2 The pledge asked that "Calorie information is provided for standardised food and drink items sold", however this information request recognises that some partners are undertaking a phased roll-out.
To enable us to comply with the new allergen legislation that commenced from December 2014, we launched a new software system that houses allergen information for each product in our supply chain. We are now updating this system to also enable us to house accurate and up to date nutritional information on each individual product that we use so we conduct and maintain accurate nutritional analysis on all of our recipes. We hope to launch this in early 2016.
In January 2015 we launched 70 nutritionally analysed dishes that are either sub 200, 300 or 500 calories into a number of sites. The dishes are a mixture of traditional, grab and go and world food dishes to help gain appeal to a wider audience.
Nutritional analysis cards next to each dish provide information on total calories, fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates and salt levels and use simple icons to help customers quickly identify the nutritional benefits of each dish without having to confuse themselves with the numbers.
Awareness posters for the dishes have also been created to try and entice customers to try them. We plan to continue to increase the number of dishes and type of dishes available through this concept throughout 2015.
You may also optionally provide this as a sales weighted percentage:
