Annual Update:

Submitted: 29 April, 2015

Autograph is the Business and Industry division of Interserve Catering Services. At Autograph we take real pride in our food offer with Chefs using fresh, seasonal produce to produce innovative, varied menus. We continue to stay committed to providing a food offer that enables our customers to make healthy choices and this is enhanced through our on-going health related educational activities.

F1. Out of Home Energy (kJ/kcal) Labelling
This year Autograph are focusing on the introduction of Saffron software across our sites. This will provide us with nutrition information to enable us to apply energy labeling across our food offer. Saffron will be introduced as a phased roll out, starting with a trial in the Talk Talk Group catering sites. From May 2015 all centrally distributed recipes for monthly promotions will be input to Saffron and communicated to sites with nutrition data. With an estimated one year roll out, we anticipate that all sites will have access to nutrition data for all recipes by May 2016.

F3(a). Non use of Artificial Trans Fat
Our key food supplier 3663 recognise the increasing evidence that artificial trans fats can have detrimental health effects such as potentially increasing the risk of coronary heart disease, and operate a Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil Policy. 3663 have signed up to the Department of Health’s Responsibility Deal pledge that Own Brand products are free from any artificial trans fats.

F5(a). Salt Catering: Training and Kitchen Practice
Our Department of Education sites continue to lead the way with our commitment to this Pledge, by creating an enabling environment for salt reduction. These sites use no added salt during cooking and have removed salt from the tables and placed in a central location. This year we will be engaging further with catering managers across our contracts, asking them to suggest innovative ways to reduce salt in the kitchen.
