H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

Please decribe how you and your caterers have encouraged healthier restaurants/vending outlet/buffets (as applicable) for your staff over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
The following healthier staff restaurant measures are in place at our Cafe 137.
Water is freely available through an automatic cooling/vending machine in the main Cafe seating area. Salt is no longer provided on the tables. A variety of fruit is on display for sale.
A full cold salad bar is available every day and on full visual display at the sandwich deli area next to the main till point.
There are plans in 2015 to work with the staff restaurant to continue providing healthier food choices at reasonable prices and to include calorie information. Throughout the Health and Wellness Programme there will be references to health eating plans and there are links to national campaigns like Change for Life and NHS Choices health living programmes. All employees will have regular communications about all of the advice in the public domain to better increase their knowledge and empower them in achieving a healthy lifestyle.
