Please describe how you have supported staff with chronic conditions or those with unpaid caring responsibilities over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section
The Crown Prosecution Service support staff with chronic conditions in a number of ways. Most significantly we developed and launched a 7 point plan which aims to support and improve the working lives of our disabled employees. The plan covers a range of activity from improving accessibility and making reasonable adjustments to improved communications and leadership of disabled employees. We work closely with our internal staff network and the business disability forum to identify best practice and implement changes as required.
Additionally, this year we have updated and launched our managing attendance policy which introduces an entirely new approach to managing the absence of staff with long term absences. This policy was launched with a range of guidance and support material which will help line managers dealing with a number of specific long term conditions. This includes a range of e learning on managing staff with long term conditions and how this can be best achieved. The CPS has a reasonable adjustment passport in place for all staff with long term conditions which ensures they get the adjustments they need in the workplace in a timely and effective manner.
