A4. Tackling Under-Age Alcohol Sales

Please describe your work to reduce and prevent under-age sales of alcohol, over the last year (2000 characters limit):
We continue to take the prevention of under-age sales of alcohol extremely seriously. All our stores support the Challenge 25 strategy and display the posters either on the tasting table or by the door.
All of our stores have a refusals book that is updated when a staff member has refused a sale of alcohol to someone we suspect is underage. All members of staff are trained on how to use this book, how to check for ID and how to refuse a sale.
All of our store managers are personal licence holders, with one of our managers passing his exam on the first attempt in early 2015. Store managers also receive regular refresher training on Challenge 25. They are aware of the responsibilities they have in relation to underage sales, proxy purchasing and responsible drinking.
In relation to online sales, we continue to use the latest technology to verify the age of any new customers.
